Pastor Tim Bernard- Pastor
I really love being at Resurrection! At times it is hard to believe that this southern Minnesota 'farm boy' is now living and working in the 'city,' but that just goes to prove the old adage: "If you ever wonder if God has a sense of humor - just start making plans for your life!"
After high school, I was a foreign exchange student in the Philippines. Then I attended Augsburg University, graduated from Luther College, and then from Wartburg Theological Seminary. I served congregations in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan before returning to Minnesota. I love to travel to meet other people in the world and see other places God has created.
So what is it that I love so much about Resurrection? The people. We are a people the Holy Spirit has called – and continues to call - to worship and serve in this community. While our central activity is to worship our Lord, immediately following worship we are sent out to serve through our daily lives, both as individuals and as a community of faith working together.
Another thing I like about how we view ministry at Resurrection is this: there is always a place for you. So, won’t you join us?
Gary Butler- Cantor
I have been an employed church musician for 31 years. I have served for churches in the United Church of Christ, Roman Catholic Church, United Methodist, and the ELCA in Pennsylvania, Ohio, New Jersey, and Minnesota. I also studied organ at the "Sessione Senese per la Musica e l'Arte" in Siena, Italy. When I am not at Resurrection, I am a music instructor and choral director for the Shakopee Public School District. I live in Burnsville with my wife; Ione, and our three children, Sophia, Kristina, and Jonathan
Rachel Wright- Parish Administrator
I have worked at Resurrection since the fall of 2011. I love my job and I love the community of people here at Resurrection. It feels more like a family than a church to me and I love the focus on multi-generational activities, music, and service to the community.
I graduated from St. Olaf College in 1995 with a BA in Psychology and Statistics. After a year of service with the Lutheran Volunteer Corps, I worked for 6 years in social services for the mentally ill. I then transitioned into a job as Director of Children & Family Ministries at Easter Lutheran Church in Eagan, MN. After 6 years of working full-time at Easter, I decided to stay home with my children when my second child was born. I am thrilled to be able to go to work part-time at Resurrection, and love the flexiblity that it affords to me and my family.
My husband, Adam Wright and I have been married since October, 2001. We live in Roseville with our three children, Alden, Greta and Will.

Jeanne Fish- Director of Ministry with the Aging
Ministry with the Aging is my “encore” career and I am blessed to be invited into this service at Resurrection. The Lutheran Church of the Resurrection has been the church home of my family for three generations. I was baptized, confirmed, and married at Resurrection.
I received a Master of Arts degree in Ministry with the Aging from Luther Seminary in May, 2016. I received a Master of Arts degree in Liberal Studies with a focus in healthcare leadership from Hamline University in May, 1999. I am a certified facilitator with Honoring Choices Minnesota, an advance care planning program, and I have been a hospice volunteer for over 10 years, with an 11th hour care focus.
I live in Arden Hills with my husband Richard. We have two wonderful sons, two beautiful daughters-in-law, and three precious grandchildren: Justin, Sandy and Zachary.
Sophia Butler- Treble Choir and Early Childhood Music
I have been involved in making music at Resurrection since I was 3, when I my dad started as the organist, and I could sit in the pew singing along to hymns I recognized. After falling in love with choir and orchestra as a kid, I attended St. Olaf where I studied music and anthropology. I then moved to Juneau, Alaska where I worked for an El Sistema inspired program, making music education accessible to students from all socio-economic backgrounds. Then, I received a Fulbright to teach music in Sarawak, Malaysia where I started a choir for students who had never learned to read music or sing in a group before. As I have left the community and returned during my studies and travel experiences, the music community at Resurrection has remained home. Through all my experiences, fostering a community through music has been a common passion and I look forward to creating that with the young singers at Resurrection.
