Stained Glass Windows
When you step into the sanctuary, one of the first things you’ll notice is the beautiful stained-glass windows encircling the worship space. Designed by Richard Caemmerer and installed in 2003, these windows are truly captivating.
Unlike the static colors of a painting, glass transforms with the light passing through it. The mouth-blown, antique European glass in these windows varies in thickness, allowing light to interact in unique ways and causing colors to shift as you move past them. What you see in the windows changes not only from day to day but also with the seasons.
These windows are one-of-a-kind, created specifically for our sanctuary. They provide a warmth of color and "a gentle suggestion" of the Christian story. Their designs follow the sequence of the liturgical year, wrapping around the sanctuary. Caemmerer placed great emphasis on the meaning of the liturgical seasons, Biblical stories, and traditional symbols. He intentionally left a sense of mystery in the windows, encouraging ongoing discovery and reflection over time.

We invite you to take a moment to reflect on each window panel and grouping. Notice their connections and the use of color—to emphasize, relate, and symbolize. For instance, observe the color blue, symbolizing baptism and the deeper meanings associated with water.
The stained glass windows in the sanctuary follow the seasons of the church — starting with Advent on the front, right side of the sanctuary. Click on any of the images below to enlarge.
Advent
Using the imagery of the tree and the branch of Jesse, depicting the ancestors of Jesus, the ancestry spreads out and will include a new born king.
Epiphany
The story of Jesus’ birth goes out to the whole world!
Holy Week
From the Last Supper to the crucifixion and finally the empty tomb, this window walks us through the days leading to Easter.
Pentecost
The Holy Spirit descents into the world, with wind and fire swirling. Notice the dove throughout the panes, and the people who were filled with the Holy Spirit and inspired to spread the Word of God through the world.
More stained glass can been seen throughout the building — in the entryway, on doors, and above entrances
Christmas
The baby Jesus shows on the leftside pane, with the Angels, Shepards (staff), Star, and other Christmas imagery showing throughout the window.
Lent
Filled with imagery from the Lenten season, we see a tree, cross, Roman buildings, a palm tree and its branches, and much more. What do you see?
Easter
Here we celebrate the resurrection of the Lord and the continued journey of faith on the Road to Emmaus.
