Early Childhood Music
Music is a natural part of children’s growth and development, including benefits for their social, emotional, expressive, creative, and even intellectual needs. This class explores music through play, call and response, circle games, movement, and more. Taking materials from Stepping Stones, an ecumenical choir curriculum, as well as from other early childhood pedagogues like Feierabend and Kodaly, the class should be accessible to all young children and their parents.
The class will be taught by Sophia Buter. Sophia graduated from St. Olaf College in 2015 and then spent a year and half teaching music in Juneau, Alaska where she collected many favorite memories and useful tools around Early Childhood Music. She experienced this class at Resurrection when it was implemented 20 years ago, and is excited to get it started again. Join us!
Class is held Wednesday evenings from 5:30-6:00 pm and follows the school calendar. There is a dinner at 6:00 pm that follows, and all are welcome. There is no fee for the class. In order to register, please email Rachel.
