Shrove Sunday
We gather to celebrate the time before Lent with our annual tradition of Shrove Tuesday, but celebrated on Sunday. We eat pancakes, sausage and pastries in order to eat the last of the "fat" before the season of Lent and fasting begins. Pancake races, Dixieland band, costumes, and general frivolity occurs before we "put away the alleluias" and burn our palms for Ash Wednesday.
